Auriga3D (
www.auriga3d.org) is a modern open source realtime 3D game engine entirely written in Java supporting both JOGL and LWJGL OpenGL bindings for hardware accelerated features. Auriga3D is component oriented and is organized from a central plugin framework. Currently, it works with Quake3 maps with the standard Quake3 lightmap rendering system. In the future normal mapping, per pixel lighting, and OGLSL programmable shading will be supported in extended components/render paths along with the possibility of Doom3 compatibility when it is released. Work is in progress in supporting JavaODE (binding to Open Dynamics Engine), and an advanced real time synthesis audio engine by EGR called Scream.
